All of those issues above just add to our stresses; they make us feel uninspired, tired and fed up with our homes and life in general. It’s amazing to see what a difference it can make to our lives when we have a good old clear out, it not only De-clutters our homes but also our minds too, it makes us feel loads better! We generally feel happier when we’ve accomplished something, especially something we may have been putting off for a long time.
So, if all of that resonates with you? Now maybe the time to get motivated and start fresh. Just like the saying goes, “Out with the old, in with the new”
Here are our useful tips to help you get started:
if you don’t know where to start, we suggest tackling the smaller rooms first and then work your way around the home, perhaps day by day, so it’s not too much to take on at once. Chances are once you get to the larger rooms you’ve become a bit of a pro at the task in hand!
Have a plan
Don’t go all guns blazing with no plan or strategy in place because you’ll end up moving things around in circles, accomplishing nothing, and making the whole thing incredibly stressful! We suggest making three piles:
1) Keep pile,
2) Throw pile, and finally
3) Sell pile
now simply sort items into each pile accordingly. Throw broken/unused items that are worth nothing and Sell anything you can to make some extra cash or donate to charity if you prefer.
Get the family involved
chances are if you try to De-clutter a kid’s room you end up with a headache when they complain about you throwing something away which they wanted to keep! Avoid this situation from the get-go by simply getting them involved.
Use Self Storage
There are some things you like and don’t want to discard. That does not mean that you need to fill up your home with those items or throw them away. Just put them into a safe and secure storage unit. With self-storage, you have easy access to your belongings any time you want, and you can get them out of your home!
Don’t put it off any longer, make changes today, and see what a difference it makes to your life, being content at home can make us feel happier within ourselves and with life in general.
